My Artist Statement
God delights our senses and finds particular ways to speak to us through details that ignite our imagination. God emerges from images when we allow ourselves to reflect and contemplate a mood, color, composition, or a brushstroke that is almost undetectable. Through the detail, we bring meaning to the image and we discover the glory of God.
God finds great delight in gazing upon each aspect of creation and being filled with wonder and awe. My camera lenses and my paint brushes want to see the joy in the world as God sees it. Each created aspect of God’s world is lovable, and true love is in sharing with each other what one values.
Senses are our primary inputs to prayer. Heightened senses feed our heart and mind that beg to be inspired. Then the imagination kicks in to unite the two and provide meaning to our experiences of the divine.
My images focus upon color and value. The subjects are often bright and cheerful and they celebrate what is good and right in this world. We bring color, dignity, the good spirit, and the good news to anyone – wherever we go.
